When you leave your computer, there are no blog posts...

Hi families and friends!

Someone went to Madison this weekend and left her computer there. (Nice, I know.) Therefore, due to my limited availability with a computer, daily blogs will start again next week. Here are a couple important tidbits from our week to tide you over:

1. We learned about assertion this week! We explored ways to be assertive through role playing which wsa a huge success! I heard students using the language we practiced in real situations through our school day. The students loved role playing; we'll have to do more!

2. We started learning American Sign Language this week. We have been working on the alphabet daily, but today we started learning colors and animals by using the book, Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?. Our goal is to learn all of the signs in this book so that we can sign it for our friends at school and for our families at home. The students are very excited about this and so am I! ASL is one of my passions and I am always inspired how it can enhance and transform our classroom community.

3. We took a trip to Kordiak Park in search of signs of fall. While we didn't see many leaves changing colors (yet!) we did have a chance to explore, dig, get a little (don't worry just a little!) dirty, and play together. We'll return in a few weeks to observe the changing leaves!
Alright, borrowed computer time is up. Look for a new blog post and pictures again on Monday!
